DenCo is a small business formed in California in February 2023. It was created by Dennis Mojado, ham radio operator callsign AD6DM. For more information on the history of DenCo, please check out our corporate site.

The DenCo manufacturing and quality control process is labor-intensive and slow. As a small business, we often find ourselves backlogged and waitlisting customers. Please be patient, and thank you for your interest in DenCo products. To be added to the waitlist, submit a request to be added in our Contact Us page where you can secure your place in line for availability of our products.

DenCo is often backlogged with regular orders, but please reach out at the Contact Us page to check if your custom battery or other project is within our wheelhouse. As a forewarning, large capacity batteries are possible but often prohibitively expensive to source parts for and to ship.

DenCo batteries originated in the amateur radio space, and are designed to complement popular ham radios. They provide 12V (actually around 13V fully charged) power to radios with a relatively flat discharge curve. Any device that takes from 10V to 15V power can probably run using a DenCo battery, provided that it also has an Anderson Powerpole connector. Please consult your device’s documentation for power, current, and compatibility requirements before connecting a DenCo battery or product (or any third-party power or product) to your electronics. This is your responsibility to ascertain the compatibility, and DenCo Enterprises, LLC and its members are not liable for any mismatch or damage arising from connected DenCo products.

Actually, that is completely up to you. DenCo batteries originate from a passion for portable power, but many other more popular and larger brands provide more variety and more availability. DenCo is a niche product that often out-performs others in high amp needs in a small form factor. If you’re into supporting small business hams, this is a great place to shop. If you want the cheapest, most available, it is often better to go with competitors.

Shipping lithium batteries internationally or by air has many restrictive regulations that are prohibitive to sending DenCo products. All DenCo batteries are shipped via US Ground Shipping and can take up to 10 days to arrive to continental U.S. locations, depending on distance from Northern California.

Cells are tested for matching voltage and go through at least one charge and discharge cycle as a 4S pack to determine that capacity is within specifications. On completion of a battery pack, all connections are tested and the BMS is tested for proper voltage range.

Manufacturers of cells that DenCo sources have also tested their cells on a variety of standard (and internationally mandated) tests. These include: Internal resistance, cell capacity, capacity retention, cycle life, high-rated discharging performance, low temperature performance, storage charge retention, high temperature storage testing, humidity storage, thermal shock testing, low pressure testing, drop testing, soak testing, short circuit testing, over charge testing, over discharge testing, crush, puncture, and heating testing.

This does not mean you should mishandle or abuse the battery. Each acquired DenCo product requires acceptance of the liability waiver and acknowledgement of understanding of proper use of lithium batteries prior to sale, receiving, and/or use.
